Our task as yogins is to simply awaken to this gift and live more fully from it. In Part One, the first level of discovery will cover in detail all the basic elements of Anusara Yoga's philosophy, vision, and asana alignment technique. The Part One Immersion is designed to provide a good foundation of practical understanding for the enthusiastic student looking to deepen their Anusara Yoga practice, or continue on to a Teacher Training. Join Julie and Vanessa, two of Virayoga's finest certified Anusara Yoga teachers, for this chance to open into your practice more fully, and meet other great beings who share in the desire to live more fully from the heart. Our 4 weekends together will include: An in-depth exploration of the Universal Principles of Alignment, the Spirals, and the Loops. Basic Anusara Yoga philosophical overview, including Ethical Precepts, Studentship, and an overview of the History of Yoga. Basic elements of pranayama, anatomy of the breath, meditation, journaling, contemplation and conversation. An introduction to Anusara's level 1 syllabus. A deeper experience of Kula - community of the Heart! * There is no required reading, but a recommended reading list will be offered * Applicants should have at least 30 hours or 6 months of regular practice of Anusara Yoga. * Completion of the 108-hour Immersion is a pre-requisite for any Anusara Yoga Teacher Training (offered in Fall 09!) The Teachers' Immersion will consist of a series of targeted workshops on specific teaching skills (such as teaching the Universal Principles of Alignment, Hands-on Adjusting and Therapeutics), as well as several workshops that follow the oral tradition of satsang, where we can immerse ourselves in the core Tantric teachings, texts and myths that inform Anusara Yoga. The immersion welcomes all levels of teachers to participate, including new teachers who want to reinforce new skills, more experienced teachers who are working toward Anusara Certification, teachers of other styles of yoga who want to learn from the Anusara Yoga methodology, and Certified Anusara teachers who just want to refine, refine, refine and share in these conversations.
