Anusara Yoga, founded by John Friend, is a unique approach to hatha yoga in which the spirit of the HEART powerfully blends with the precision of biomechanical ALIGNMENT and balanced energetic ACTION in the performance of asanas (yoga postures). The word "anusara" originates from a line in the Tantric text called the Kularnava Tantra, "shaktipata-anusarena shishyonugraham arhati." Anusara literally means to be in the flow, in the current of the Divine, flowing with Grace. The philosophical basis of Anusara, as elucidated by Dr. Douglas Brooks, is called Rajanaka Yoga. |

Greetings VIRAYOGINS This year we celebrate 5 YEARS of VIRAYOGA
with great gratitude to each of you.
In our winter message, we equated
your HEART'S intelligence
with
the strong and spacious ease
accessed via your attention
on your breathing,
your inner listening. While you practice, create, relate, all day long
listen with your whole body to your breathing.
This listening at first seems
arduous, perhaps frustrating.
Slowly
you realize
listening leads you to a profound freedom.
When you listen, you aren't in your thinking mind;
you're living receptively in your heart.
When you live in in your heart,
you experience
trust instead of judgment;
patience instead of fear.
You are healing,
serving, loving, creating
and listening
from
your heart.
May your precise alignment
and awareness of your breathing
lead you to listen with your heart
in every moment of your day.
With gratitude and respect,
elena and lynn |
